SMOKIN’ Greek Cigar Night
October 18, 2017 Boca Raton, FL: AHEPA Chapter 487 produced the SMOKIN’ Greek Cigar Night at Casa de Montecristo by Prime Cigar. Over 150 people gathered to support the AHEPA College Scholarship Fund and five (5) Community Partners including Boca Raton Police Foundation, Family Promise of South Palm Beach County, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Golden Bell Education Foundation and Place of Hope Leighan & David Rinker Campus.

The evening was supported by the following Generous Sponsors: Casa de Montecristo by Prime Cigar provided the new Montecristo Pilotico “Pepe Mendez” Cigars, Coastal Wine & Spirits, along with Moet Hennessey, including Belvedere Vodka, Glenmorangie Scotch, Vulcan Tequila, Smoke Tree Pinot Noir, Newton Chardonnay and Saratoga Water were the features spirits.
This first time event raised over $18,000 with $5,000 to the AHEPA College Scholarship Fund and $1,000 to each of the five (5) Community Partners with the remainder to cover expenses and support other philanthropic activities throughout the year. Event Chairman, James Constantine said that outreach is one of our goals for this year and we are working to see how we can incorporate this type of support on an annual basis. In addition, the Saint Mark Greek Festival, now in its 36th year to be held on January 25-28, 2018 at Saint Mark Greek Orthodox Church at 2100 Yamato Road. The event attracts over 12,000 people to this multiday event – one of the largest in South Florida and certainly one of the best.
Also, thank you to our restaurant partners at the Greek Food Village which featured Souvlaki and Gyro with Roasted Potatoes by Chris’ Taverna, Flaming Saganaki with Metaxa and Ouzo tastings from Flashback Diner, Spanakopita and Tyropita from Jimmy the Greek, Pastitsio and Moussaka from Plaza Diner and Chicken Souvlaki and Greek Salads from Zorba’s Taverna.
