Aubrey Strul Receives Top Honor at the 18th Annual Men with Caring Hearts Award Luncheon
Boca Raton, Florida – April 30, 2019 – Businessman, philanthropist, and Boca Raton resident Aubrey Strul won top honors at this year’s Men with Caring Hearts Awards luncheon held at Boca West Country Club. Strul, who was nominated by Florida Atlantic University was named the 2019 Outstanding Male Volunteer.
The event honored 19 outstanding men and 4 inspiring youth who strive to make this community a better place with their tireless efforts, along with the agencies they represent. They demonstrate what is possible through their volunteerism and leadership.
The event was co-chaired by FFCDC Board Member and Saks Boca Raton General Manager, Heather Shaw Fairs and PurePoint Financial Marketing Director, Scott Van Wyngarden. Neil Meany and auctioneer Neil Saffir shared emcee duties.
Nominees and guests enjoyed a champagne reception, raffle and silent auction. A seated luncheon and awards ceremony followed with a special presentation by the FFCDC West Campus Children’s Chorus.
The luncheon also honored two extraordinary men who have personally dedicated their lives to the betterment of our community. Wall Street veteran and local philanthropist, Gary Peters was presented with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Gary has offered his generosity and leadership to numerous worthy causes such as Vanderbilt University, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, SOS Children’s Village, and the Youth Activity Center just to name a few. Gary is currently the Board President of Boca Helping Hands where he has dedicated himself to increasing meals served, expanding programming, recruiting staff and volunteers, raising funds and awareness and building sustainability.
The Biggest Heart Award was presented to John C. Tolbert, President of Boca Raton Resort & Club. John has partnered with many charitable organizations and is so dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the many charities he supports he formed the group ‘Stronger Better Together”, an early relief effort to immediately bring lifesaving supplies to the hardest hit areas of Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria left the island devastated.
